Gerry Benton

The journey began in 1989. As a dedicated quilter she has shown her work at the Pittsburgh Children’s Museum, PPG Winter Garden, City County Building, National African-American Conference in Lancaster and Quiltfest USA in Louisville. Gerry organized the African-American Exhibit in New York at Pier 52. She has taught nationally and has won several ribbons and other awards. Gerry has served as president of Quilt Company East and the African-American Heritage Quilters. Photos of her quilts have appeared in several publications, including Surface Design Magazine and the Smithsonian Magazine.
